Once again we the Board have found a superintendent that we hope will meet the needs to the D-49 community and encourage excellence among our students and schools. After an exhaustive search the Board chose to enter into negotiations with Dr. Bradley Schoeppey, currently with the Tulsa School District.

I apologize for not getting back sooner. I have a couple pressing matters that have been the focus of my time. Below is my response to a Comment left by Alex Eichelberger, an individual that I greatly respect for her concern, consideration, and bluntness. I will try to answer as best as I can. I have been out of town a couple of days enjoying some Spring Break with the kids, so I apologize that I have not checked this site for a couple of days. I still have not been able to figure out the failure of the comments to show up, so below, I will be posting the 2 that were posted since the last time I updated.

Earlier Sunday evening a comment was posted to the Community Forum and for some reason though the title showed up on the forum tracking the original post does not. It still exists and I can access the information, but at this point I can not get it to show. Until I can get the other matter squared away, and not wanting "to appear to be hiding something" I have decided to post those comments on the front page until I can straighten out the problem.

First of all I want to apologize for not finishing responding to everyone's email messages, but I hope to get to it today. I want to reiterate my support for the appreciation for all that have contacted me regarding the events of this week, both positive and otherwise.

I also want to express my support to the administration on account of the initial decision and the current position related to the principals. The events of last Tuesday were not unexpected, except for the scope.

D-49 Board of Education

First of all I want to apologize if my behavior was unpleasant or disconcerting. I am glad to hear ALL of the news that comes from the members of our great community and have tried to create a welcoming report, but I will work to become more blank if that will help you to feel more comfortable. As it is easy for me to have people tell me what I already understand, I actually am very glad to receive information that may run contrary to my thinking to help me better appreciate and empathize with points of view that I may not always fully understand.
